Eighteen years at the decks endorse the trajectory and experience of this disc-jockey and producer from Seville, Spain. Raúl Navarrete aka DeeJayKul.

Armed with a great knowledge and passion for black music in all its forms from a very early age (Soul, Jazz, Funk, House, Electro, Hip Hop), he has been resident DJ in the most emblematic clubs in Seville: Bestiario, Catedral, BuBus, Sevilla Mia, etc.. His purpose as a DJ has always been to show the public all that unknown dance music, staying away from orthodox sounds.

His career as a producer begins in 1997, remixing a track for Sindicato del Crimen. Thanks to this remix he releases “Mondofonk” with Boozo Records, legendary Spanish label belonging to DJ Tony Rox. From that moment on, his music is included in several compilations, such as TARIFA GROOVE COLLECTIONS, CAFÉ SOLAIRE, he begins to produce local new soul artists such as Diargi, Nalaya Brown, and Internationals like Lenny Hamilton (US), composes the music for the SONY Spain advertising campaign, combining all this with live performances in festivals such as SONAR 99 and ESPARRAGO 2000.

His latest Album, BACK TO BASICS, released with Andy Compton’s PENG RECORDS in the UK is a symbiosis of all this musical restlessness accumulated over the years. It combines the essence of electronica and 80’s funk with the new conceptions of New Jazz, House, and Hip Hop. Now he’s start up his own record label called XTRASOLAR and Preparing the 3rd release, The Remixes of a Classic Jazz Funk Track, “Duke’s Brazilian Love Affair” with international artist such as Gregory Del Piero, Toni Rox, Soulfeenix, etc, and featuring as a Remixer with Del Records (Gregory del Piero’s Label)
